Crater Lake Lodge

Decades of poor maintenance, insensitive design changes, and severe snow conditions forced the closure of Crater Lake Lodge for safety reasons. When the National Park Service tried to tear it down, public outcry instead spurred a two-phased, $15 million rehabilitation. Additionally, this was the National Park Service's first partnered project. Our $10.5 million scope involved seismically reinforcing the crumbling stone foundation walls, constructing a new 4-story concrete and CMU elevator shaft, rebuilding the wood floor and wall framing, and replacing the existing wood roof. We also restored the Great Hall, and remodeled the guest rooms and main lobby.
